Iranian Americans, members of California Society for Democracy in Iran, Network member of the Organization of Iranian American Communities-US (OIAC) calls on all Iranian Americans and freedom loving people to join the “Free Iran Rally”, to be held at the U.N. plaza (47th Street and 2nd Ave.) in New York City on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:30 AM.
The gathering will bring thousands to the U.N. against the increased executions in Iran, currently well over 3,000 under Hassan Rouhani’s watch.
Similarly the crime against humanity “1988 Massacre of some 30,000 political prisoners” that took place pursuant to then Supreme Leader Khomeini’s fatwa in Iran will be strongly condemned. Many perpetrators directly-tied in the prisoners’ massacre currently hold senior positions in Rouhani’s cabinet, including the current Justice Minister who used to be one of the three-member Tehran’s death commission member. Rally participants will call on the United Nations to hold them accountable for this crime against humanity.
Thousands of Iranian-American community members from across the nation will join human rights activists and community leaders to condemn Iranian government for non-stop executions, malign role in the Middle East, particularly in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon, and clandestine pursuit of nuclear bomb.
The gathering recognizes and echoes the legitimate rights of Iranian people and their resistance for democratic regime change in Iran.
